Meet the Dust Bunnies

What is a dust bunny?

Dust bunnies are 1/4″ to 1/2″ tall (or 6-10mm) beings created when static electricity and dust interact, often when The Creator (a gigantic socked foot) walks by. They spend their days collecting dust since they and everything in Clump are made of it. Clump is the name of their town under the sofa. They sometimes make a trip to “The Edge” (of the sofa) to view The Great Rectangle (TV) across the vast plain, from which they learn about the greater world (for better or for worse.)

While fragile, they’re also very resilient. If they get wet, they dissolve. If they catch on fire, they burn to ash. But they just turn back into dust eventually and with a bit of static electricity, poof, they’re back!

They can choose their shape, size, color and decorate Clump, and themselves, with bits and scraps of things they find.

Dusty

Being the fastest dust bunny in Clump, Dusty wants to go places. Collecting dust, for Dusty, is about as exciting as it sounds. Brave, and possibly reckless, he looks beyond “The Edge” (of the Sofa) wistfully longing for adventure.

Felter

Pieces of human trash and scraps are gold to Felter, a brilliant and inventive dusty bunny, with her namesake dress of felt patches. She takes whatever she finds to build gadgets to help Clump grow and improve. Although all her inventions don’t work exactly as planned, she’s undeterred and knows that failure is just a step on the road to success.

Elder Puffster

Ironically, Elder Puffster is younger than Dusty and Felter, but since dust bunnies can be whatever they want, he decided, with everyone’s agreement, to be the wise leader of the Clump. It’s a job and some bunny’s got to do it!

Hazel

Hazel is the smallest, but arguably the cutest, dust bunny in Clump, and she’s not all that happy about it. Being small isn’t easy. You get bumped into or literally overlooked and ignored. But she has two powers; first she has star power with her dazzling hazel coat, and second, she has a rare ability to manipulate dust with her static electricity.

Furtis

While no bunny is sure where he got it, Furtis sports a luxurious, thick head of black fur. He always looks fabulous.

Chip

Chip is a bit shy and insecure, so he found some potato chips and made a crunchy coat. It’s tough and makes him resistant to injury and now he feels safe and secure.
